Commercial work is a different discipline from domestic work. The hardware is heavier, the usage is measured in hundreds of cycles a day rather than a handful, life safety regulations govern how exit doors must behave, and the access question is organisational: a cleaner needs the lobby and the store cupboard but not the server room, and a supervisor needs both plus the loading bay. TC Locksmiths designs, installs and maintains that structure for businesses across University Of California-Santa Barbara, CA, and attends outside trading hours so the work does not cost you a day.
Master Key Systems Designed for University Of California-Santa Barbara, CA Businesses
A master key system gives each holder a key that opens only what their role requires, while a master opens the whole group and sub masters cover departments or floors. Designed properly it replaces a bunch of twenty keys with one or two.
The design matters more than the hardware. We map roles against doors before cutting anything, then document the hierarchy so future changes extend the system rather than breaking it.
Shopfront, Office and Industrial Hardware Across University Of California-Santa Barbara, CA
Aluminium shopfronts, timber office suites, roller shutters, fire doors, cabinets and gates each carry their own standards and failure modes. High traffic entrances need commercial grade cylinders and closers that survive constant use rather than domestic units that will not.
Where a door is part of a fire strategy, any hardware fitted has to preserve that function. Nothing is installed that would compromise a fire rating or obstruct an escape route.
Document your key hierarchy before you need it. The businesses that recover fastest from a lost master are the ones who can tell us exactly which doors that key opened.
Staff Changes and Key Control for University Of California-Santa Barbara, CA Commercial Sites
Turnover is the most common trigger for commercial calls. A departing key holder, a lost set, a contractor who did not return access: all of them mean a portion of your key system is no longer accounted for.
Rekeying the affected cylinders restores control without touching the wider system, provided the hierarchy was documented at the outset. For sites with frequent change, electronic access removes the physical key problem altogether.

Scheduled Maintenance and Callouts for University Of California-Santa Barbara, CA Businesses
Most commercial lock failures announce themselves first. A closer that has started slamming, a cylinder that needs two attempts, a shutter that catches on the way down: those are maintenance items this month and emergencies next month.
A scheduled inspection across your doors catches them while they are cheap. Businesses that hold an arrangement with us also get priority attendance when something does fail unexpectedly.
